‘KNOL’ Google’s Wikipedia….

Web is vast source of information which is freely available for all of us. Search engines helps us to explorer this information. There are many sites which are very best source of information eg… Wikipedia, yahoo answers etc…. Google had recently launched a user generated content creation web portal similar to Wikipedia. It is intended for people who possess tremendous  knowledge that they would love to share with other people on the web so that billions of people can benefit from it. Google had given a name for this project  as “ Knol “Google engineer, Udi Manber, said, Knol will invite “people who know a particular subject to write an authoritative article about it” which can be used by web community. The name knol derives from the word “knowledge” this service is free of charge. Main benefit would be for all authors who can attach advertising to their work and take a share of revenues. The main goal for “Knol” is to cover all topics, which can include scientific concepts to entertainment and all other, making it a huge success.You can consider this project as a new step of giant search engine Google so as to get their feet’s in this new venture. Recently Google had squared up to the mobile phone industry by unveiling its own operating system for hand-held devices. Thus you can see Google is trying to get into every sector of IT industry. Currently “Knol” is an invitation-only beta service but it’s likely to be open to the public very soon. After Wikipedia you may see ‘ Google’s Knol’ as most-visited online destination and most popular among webmasters.
